Secretariat Bios
Adam Oberstadt-Petrik joins the NWMUN-Seattle Executive Secretariat for the first time, after serving on NWMUN committee staff at six conferences since 2019. He first experienced Model United Nations as a delegate at NWMUN-Portland 2016 and has been engaged in the Pacific Northwest Model UN scene ever since. Outside NWMUN, he has been on the secretariat of a major Canadian high school MUN and on committee staff at other regional high school and collegiate conferences. He enjoys the buzz of a highly engaged committee and helping delegates and new committee staff refine their research and writing skills.
This fall, Adam began a master's program in history at Boston College, where he studies borderlands and colonialisms in the 19th-century North American West and is a tutor for the university's core history and writing classes. He holds a BA in history from Western Washington University. A lifelong Seattleite, Adam is gradually adjusting to the quirks of Boston living, including the paradox of iced coffee and snow boots being equally quotidian. When not reading, writing, or tutoring, he enjoys cooking and entertaining with his spouse and cat.
Megan Eu is excited to be joining NWMUN Seattle as Chief of Staff this year. It will be her first year serving on the Executive Secretariat since she started staffing committees at NWMUN in 2019. She has been involved in MUN since high school and her very first experience with MUN was serving as a page at NWMUN Seattle 2013. Since then, she has attended many more collegiate level conferences regionally and nationally, and even had the opportunity to attend an international MUN conference. To her, MUN has been invaluable in her personal and professional growth both as a delegate and a staff and hopes to be able to be a part of the process to create the experiences for other delegates to hopefully get the same. Her favorite memory from MUN has been meeting people from all around the country and even the world!
Megan graduated from the University of Washington in 2019 with a double degree in Political Science and Japanese. She currently works in Commercial Real Estate, helping many small businesses work toward fulfilling their dreams of owning their own store, with plans of someday returning to work on her master's degree. When not wrapped up in the whirlwind of work, she enjoys binge watching television shows, trying out new recipes, and wrangling her slightly insane chow chow-corgi mix dog. She is also an avid traveler and hopes to have the opportunity to visit countries in Europe in the near future.
Alexander Rodewald is the Assistant Secretary-General for Logistics at Northwest Model United Nations - Seattle 2022. Alexander served as a staff member at NWMUN conferences in the distant past of 2007-2009, and has recently returned to NWMUN during the 2021-2022 academic year. He is honored to be serving for the first time on the Executive Secretariat. Prior to 2022, he served in various Committee Staff positions, and originally came to MUN as a student in both High School and College. He is very excited to be back in the flow of the Model UN World.
Outside of MUN, Alexander owns and operates a small business in Vancouver, WA, and spends his free time with his children, woodworking, being a snob about books and coffee, and enjoying the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
Anthony Bassey returns to NWMUN-Seattle this year as the Assistant Secretary-General for Conference Services. Anthony studied Biology at Arkansas State University, and currently works for the American Red Cross. He has attended over 10 MUN conferences as a delegate, and continues to volunteer with NWMUN as well as other MUN organizations. He loves MUN because of the passion young people bring to the conference to simulate the UN and create possible solutions for global issues.
Anthony speaks English, Italian, Spanish, and a few other languages, and loves to practice them on his spare time. His goal for this conference is to foster an environment that maximizes delegates’ productivity, and encourages them to bring their NWMUN skills to other aspects of their lives.
